Work In Australia – Junior Structural/Architectural Designer Skills Required
If you are looking for work in Australia, have you considered looking in the mining and natural resources industry? We have been flagging up this sector to promote the thousands of jobs that sit ready and waiting for the right candidate to walk into. Today’s spotlight is for someone with structural/architectural designer skills, so keep reading for more info.
Before we delve any deeper into that, another snippet recently reported in the Australian news continues to show that the skills shortage is getting worse. This is mostly due to the increased demand for help in the flood and cyclone areas that were badly hit in last winter’s storms.
Figures show that although there has been an increase in the number of workers coming from New Zealand, it isn’t true for the rest of the world – figures are actually falling. It appears that immigration in the 3rd quarter last year (ending September) was a whopping 40% lower than the same period the previous year. These changes have been linked to adjustments in the immigration policy and tougher foreign student rules.
Which again begs the question Why? Why are they doing that? Do they want the help or don’t they? Do they want to encourage workers to fill the skills gap or don’t they?
It would really help the rest of the world if the schizophrenic policy making would cease – then at least we would all know where we stand and would either pack up and go home or increase our efforts!
Well, rant over for today. At least at JobContinental we are lucky enough to have a great partnership with a recruitment agency that know exactly who is required for any particular job.
So keen are they to get the right person, they will do the visa process for free!
